Nevada’s New Age Film Studio

Las Vegas – Phase 1Reno – Phase 2Carson City – Phase 3

Studio Plan

Our goal for Babs Do Studios is to build a universally adaptable and scalable film studio system to establish Nevada as a new central hub for film & media creation.

Our studios can be built with modular construction for the benefit of speed, affordability, and flexibility to the ever changing cities, towns, and desert valleys of Nevada. Current commercial real estate can also be converted for film production uses.

Our infrastructure plan doesn’t stop with one studio campus or even one city. Las Vegas is only the first phase of our plan for Nevada to maximize the creative potential of the state’s varied landscape.

Our development is prepared for any changes in the industry including advances in virtual production and the adoption of AI technology in production as well as post-production.

Production Services

Production Stages

Whether productions need sets or an LED Virtual Production Wall installation, our studios will provide everything for productions big or small with an emphasis on the largest industry standard stages possible.

Post Services

Filming in resolutions up to 18K, we will provide the latest post-production pathways possible to provide a future-proof level of quality for sound and video to meet current and future distribution standards, including film support for 8mm, 16mm, 35mm film, and 70mm scanning.

Visual FX & Animation

Building a full in-house animation department will maximize the potential of our studios with digital scanning, simulation, graphic design, visual effects, AI design, and motion capture production services being available to all productions.

Frequently Asked
Questions

No, the Las Vegas Media Campus is another studio development in town. We are a second development that is independent from Nevada Studios/Sony/etc. but we do share a direct connection to UNLV as we are former UNLV Film graduates and we too want to bring work and education opportunities to UNLV’s Film students as well as other Nevada film programs with our studios. We are in no competition with the LVMC as all Film Infrastructure is good for Nevada and both of our developments will benefit each other for film production in Nevada.

Absolutely! The film and entertainment industry is growing rapidly across the country with states offering film tax incentives as well as becoming homes for new studio developments like Netflix Studios Albuquerque in New Mexico and both Tyler Perry Studios and Trilith Studios in Georgia. Nevada currently has a few scattered independent facilities but needs to establish major infrastructure to be competitive in the industry. Babs Do Studios is currently the most adaptable and scalable studio development proposal with plans for multiple cities and large studio deployment across the state.

Babs Do Studios is completely independent of the status of the film tax incentive program in Nevada. Senator Roberta Lange is campaigning for a 2025 senate bill that will expand the Nevada Film Tax Incentive program from the current $10 Million Dollar budget to a new $95 Million Dollar budget. While the expansion will be beneficial to help bring outside productions to the state, our development is aimed at producing productions within Nevada and focuses on fostering the inherit economic benefits of film production to local communities and businesses by creating local jobs and providing enough consistent production work to allow for film careers to completely begin and remain within Nevada as a new central hub for film & media production. We are seeking investor funds and potential financing options that benefit our business development while preserving our independence.

Babs Do Studios in Las Vegas is an idea that we have had for a long time, beginning as UNLV Film students and evolving from there. Nevada’s call for Film Infrastructure in the state inspired us to present our proposal to the Nevada Film Office and to seek investors to bring our development to life. Utilizing new age modular construction companies with their sound stage designs as well as certain commercial real estate properties, we can have a starting budget of $35 Million Dollars for a single film studio lot of 4 stages or, alternatively, 2 or 3 select CRE properties to be repurposed for film production. With $300 Million or more, we can complete all phases of our proposal with multiple large studio lots in Las Vegas, Reno, and Carson City with plenty of room for expansion and growth from there. With easy modular construction and pre-existing building options, we can be up and operational in as little as 6 months as quoted by our builders or even sooner with CRE development pathways.

Our connection to Las Vegas goes back to our childhood as Las Vegas was a constant weekend getaway adventure for our family. We would later attend and graduate from UNLV’s Film program and would go on to receive our Masters of Fine Arts from Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film & Media Arts before moving back to Las Vegas. With nearly two decades of connections to industry professionals, their production companies, suppliers and creative partners across the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), Siggraph, LDI Expo, Comic-Con International, local Nevada filmmakers and businesses, and two film schools, we have a vast network to rely on in helping to build and utilize our studios for Nevada. With business experience from a family medical office with over 35+ years of business as well as being multi-award-winning filmmakers with our own production company, we have the experience and creative innovation necessary to run our studios and we are uniquely placed at a time when Nevada is seeking development in Film Infrastructure for the state.
